Reeds at Egerøy
Reeds, Emma Arthur (2014)
This photograph which has been worked on digitally was taken while walking to an isolated lighthouse down the North Sea coast of Norway. There was a small moor in front of the lighthouse with pools of water as it had been exceptionally wet due to a lot of rain. I lay on a rock to take this photo, looking down at the reeds. The colours of the reeds are the original colours. I had never seen reeds like this before.
I think there is a good balance of colour here. The sutle blend of pale orange and brighter green goes well with the grey / black water. The dark shadows add an element of depth as does the angle of the shot. However, there are several fuzzy sections due to the focus not being quite right. I am not sure if this improves the image or has a negative affect. Whatever the case, I have to improve my photography skills in this area.
